New TCP Code

On 10 December 2015, the TIO implemented some changes to its systems to make them consistent with new requirements in the revised Telecommunications Consumer Protection (TCP) Code.

The TCP Code 2015 was registered by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) on 3 December. Changes in the Code include:

•    amendments to the Code’s customer information provisions, and

•    removal of Code rules relating to matters that already exist in other legislation.

Read more about the changes on the ACMA website

The changes to the Code will not affect your day-to-day dealings with the TIO, but the TIO’s data reports and complaint correspondence may refer to the new Code (depending on when the complaint events occurred).

We will keep you informed of any TCP Code-related changes to our processes.
